Comments: Veterans Day

*sniffle* I love that generation!!!

One of my favorite neighbors, is a WW2 vet. His body is failing him, but his mind is as sharp as a tack! He has done EVERYTHING, and simply fascinates me with his stories! He's taking a bee keeping class with me in Jan. :) He was so excited to discover that I was into bees, and gave me an old bee keeping book of his from the 1950's, in which he had kept a diary of sorts of his adventures with bee keeping. ;) I gave him a few Robert Spencer books, and helped open his eyes to islam. Gawd, I love this guy!!! We talk politics, and he recently discovered blogs, like yours, and LGF, and RWN, and jihad watch. Anywho, not to overlook other vets, but the WW2 crowd was the greatst generation ever!

You are absolutely correct. My next door neighbor is 83 and still going strong. He served in the Pacific and the European theatres. My Dad served in the Navy from 48-52 on a destroyer. We are losing them all too quickly.

I don't know how to trackback, but I posted this on my blog. Hope you don't mind.

I can't make out all of the medals but one of them is a Purple Heart, which means he was wounded in combat.
