Comments: Well, he's right about one thing

Maybe he's just mad his predecessors claimed a giant desert instead of useful places in the big colonial land grab. If they had made better choices (like the British), perhaps the world would speak French as an international languge.

We do an activity on our world history classes where students to a "land grab," running around the room putting tags with their names on different objects. One year (so I was told), a student stuck his name on the microfisch, having no idea what it was or that it was useless at the high school level. The called him "Frenchie" from that point foward.

Wow, random story...I need a vacation.
