I only know that they seem equally partial to the thistle seed we put out for the goldfinches as they do for the standard songbird mix we put out for everything else. But since they're too tubby to perch on either feeder, they spend all their time hoovering the ground underneath.

How badly do you want the bird gone? It seems like there are lots of methods you could use if you don't mind being heartless.

If I wanted the bird gone, I'd slam the door often and move the nest to wash the siding behind it. I don't particularly want it gone. I love watching the baby birdies hatching and begging for food.
