Where is your Social Security card?

You have a driver license, right? And an insurance card in your name, right? How about the title to your car that's in your name? Or a library card? Voter registration card? Passport?

Jen & RP,

Y'know, the teller listed a few options for a second ID such as Passport, active Credit Card, Military ID etc, but she never mentioned my Social Security Card. I have it right here in my wallet. She also didn't mention an auto insurance card which I have in my glove compartment. D'oh!

Don't have a passport or a current library card, though, and I've even heard of a Voter Registration Card. That must be a New Yawk thang.

Anyhoo, I cashed it at a check cashing place. They only required a driver's license. Cost me $2.08 but so what. All is well.

Thank you both for that info!

Well, she wouldn't mention the insurance card. The thing is, though, you can argue that it has the same indicia of reliability that a credit card has -- it is issued in your name by a third party who has a strong interest in determining your correct identification as who you say you are since they may have to pay you money one day. The Soc. Sec. card should also be acceptable since it is a federally issued piece of paper.

And what do you mean no library card!?! You ought to get one, you know. Keeps the costs down considerably if you like to read, which I know you do.
