I disagree. The MSM's job is to report and give us information. They simply reported what a relative said- would you prefer the MSM filter and spin what he said?

Your kneejerk response is not what I, as a regular visitor, expect from this blog.

Is it news? Probably. Did they jump on the story b/c it makes Bush look bad. Again, probably. I don't fault the family members. I would be so insane w/ grief I wouldn't know what to do. I'd blame anybody and everybody. Omnidirectional rage.

Come on, now. Why are you so upset about this? I mean, you right-wingers' plan for conquest has gone so well. So, what's a little criticism? The US is WINNING in Iraq. Why are you letting this gentleman's obvious myopic tendencies get to you so quickly? I mean, we know he's unpatriotic and treasonous.

Just remember: Those on the right have already won the debate on the success that is the new democracy of Iraq. No need to lend credence to the left-wing nutsos by complaining about the usual "left-wing media."

While Rhodey may have jumped the gun -- perhaps -- I think you ought to consider, AJ: Did "Today" bring up that 8,000 troops were searching for the two and that that fast reaction team was there w/in 15 minutes? That the concept of a $100 million reward is ludicrous on its face? (In a respectful way, of course.) It doesn't say. I personally doubt they did.

I agree that AP is just reporting (so the title may be a bit unfair), but examine the statements made on "Today."

AJ, I changed the post title. Does that take away some of the misleading bits from it?

Hube was right -- AP was just reporting and my original headline appeared to place blame on them. It's "Today" that apparently didn't ask questions or rebuttal.

Mike, I know your sarcasm is well documented but I cannot tell where you are being silly and straight. Criticism is more than fair, of course, as long as people don't get away with making incorrect or silly statements on a major news show.

After reading the update, it sounds like Lauer did do the right thing. Good for him.

I agree with AJ that you can't fault the media for covering the uncles comments. The media is obligated to give both sides a voice. However, in the case of Cindy Sheehan, I thin the media gave her way more coverage than she deserved.

However, it is a shame that people like the uncle, Sheehan, Berg, and others get all the press, while the hundreds of family members who respect their fallen soldiers and don't blame the world don't get the press. But, it's just a case of the squeaky wheel getting the grease. The few extreme people who want to use the death of their loved one who criticize Bush and/or America are the only ones ho seek medai attention.
