It's probably the hard-right, elitist, Christian conservatives driving them away.

This is being so blown out of proportion.....still. Many of their complaints were met with new board policies almost immediately.....Some of their complaints were outright false....if Bible club gets 'special treatment' because they get to get their lunch trays first in order to walk back to their meeting.....its the same treatment that the book club gets (is this also elitist or should we just ban book clubs?!!) and other clubs that meet over lunch or students that get tutored over lunch....plain and simple...its a money grab.....I don't think it started out that way, but once the aclu got involved.....hey, we can make some money here, just like the jesse jackson rainbow coalition works.....threaten businesses with lawsuits and 9-10 they pay a settlement to cut their losses....not here, the school board stood up for a principle....something that does not happen much anymore...........

Hube,

It was the four GOP state legislators who came out in favor of making Christianity the official religion of the IRSD that bnrought Castle into this.

HE is the leader of the Republican's here in Delaware - but where is the leadershiP.

That's baloney. Prove exactly what you said: the "official religion of IRSD." You can't so you won't.

And that still in no way exonerates Minner. She leads the STATE. Where is her leadership? Where is her statement on the matter? And she's from downstate, at that!

Quite right about Minner. There has been a vacancy sign on her office door for most of 6 years and nobody brings it up. Unbelieveable. Minner's party has very little to be proud of in the governance of this state.

Hube I don't get why just Castle needs to speak about the IRSD and the Dobrich Case. In 2002 Sussex County's majority went to Biden, in 2000 it went to Minner and in 2000 Carper got a not so bad 48% against Bill Roth. As for Castle he kicks ass every year he's run, getting over 70% in Kent and Sussex and he runs in the high 60% in NC. I don't see why Castle's comments are needed but Biden's aren't, considering that Sussex County gave both of them a majority vote.

I'd also like to point out that not all board members pushing for prayer are Republicans. It's really not a party issue, it's a religious issue. There are plenty of GOPers here in Sussex County that don't support the IRSB fighting this battle, like me.

And does Jason at DE Liberal think that Democrats aren't capable of being religious and wanting to defend their religion? There are plenty of Democrats in the IRSD that wholeheartedly support what the School Board is doing with this prayer case. Does this Jason blogger always base his opinions on stereotypes? Because that sucks and it's not really reflective of reality.
