I've never watched Survivor, but I've been told that the minority players usually got voted off the island first because they couldn't work collaboratively with their white teammates. Maybe what the network is trying to do is ensure that there are minority players in the game all the way to the end and therefore keep more minority viewers tuned in longer. So, is this a ratings ploy or a socio-ethnic experiment, a la the Duke brothers in Trading Places? Either way, I won't be tuning in to find out.
