Comments: Bill to Make Anne Frank Honorary Citizen

This has got to be the ultimate example of closing the barn door after the horse is long gone.

Dems might want to zip their lips on this subject, lest the information regarding their "god" FDR's abysmal behavior vis-a-vis his not being willing to accept immigration of more than a scant number of German, Dutch, Austrian and French Jews who thus ended up going to the camps and ultimately to their deaths! FDR was anti-Semitic in deed, if not in word, and no amount of backpedaling or blaming it on the "vast right wing conspiracy" is going to change that simple FACT. I have never ever understood why American Jews did and do revere FDR and can only assume it is out of ignorance of his woeful behavior in this area.

Jeez, I don't want to sound insensitive or anything, but the poor girl is dead. What good is honorary citizenship to somebody that's dead?

That's exactly it. It's a meaningless gesture that makes people feel good. Meanwhile, there are things our government could be doing to stop mainstream anti-Semitism from coming back from the dead, like dealing with Iran.

The americans are probably getting tired of this by now, and are probably wondering why they let so many of annes people into america, not for this kind of thing surely?
Also, why is america so preoccupied with isreali problems and not about american peoples?
