Comments: Additions... No Subtraction

it took only about 8 months of me crying every day and throwing fits of rage before i finally calmed down and rowdi finally "got it" that she's simply not allowed to in any way play with or chase the kitties. accidental killings and whatnot.

because you know your hamster is going to escape that, right? hamsters can get out of anything. anything.

rowdi loves to chase the squirrels and the birds. we have had to take a strict line with her, with lots of alpha rolling (it's what works with her): no chasing any animals smaller than you, period. not even insects.

anyway, good luck, but your hamster is not staying in that. you're going to have to go about it the other way: train the people to give the dog rules.

We'll be fine. I figured an extra layer of protection would not hurt. Everyone is really keyed into it, so I'm not worried. And outside, leash only.

14 pounds? Where's the rest of the dog? ;)

Congrats!

And a terrier ... a dog with the energy to match your boys energy!

When Elderspawn's Hamster escaped I used the cat to find it. The cat stalked the Hamster and I stalked the cat. When she started doing the pre-pounce crouch next to an open closet, I tossed her out of the room and retrieved Ms. Fuzzy.

Earthy Crunchy is a good thing, right?

I'd better not let my daughter see this. Fortunately it hasn't been so hard to keep our four cats away from the hamster's cage. We have that exact same one in the right of your picture.

I'm thinking barbed wire & land mines outside the tank.

heh. Good luck. And remember that dogs, like children, do NOT mix with white carpet, no matter how much they want to sleep on your bed.... although I imagine this little guy would have a hard time doing that!

Good for you! Boys and dawgs just seem to fit with each other. There have been very few years in my life that I didn't have at least one dawg..or probably should say that at least one dawg didn't have me...

let me know when you're ready to adopt one of my bunnies or one of my chinchillas. Or a duck...

Bou actually allowed a dog in her home??? It's a sign of the end times.

Congrat's, I think, on the newest of the varmit kong. If a 14 pound dog starts lookin' for a hampster, it ain't 'cause he's hungry... it's 'cause he's horny.
