Comments: Psycho Samaritans

I think I would have shit myself if I saw someone walking up to my car like that.

You are right about the Tampa Bay area and a hurricane..a cat three coming off the gulf or up the bay would do more damage then was done to the New Orleans/ Gulf Port area. I lived in the Tampa area off and on for many years..the last time for 17 years. I had to get out of there..

LOL I can't imagine anyone doing that. Even here in the midwest where we are supposed to be soooo kind.

See, it's stuff like this that makes guys NOT want to help someone else out. Just because some guys are kind of scary looking it doesn't mean they actually are bad people.

You're story reminds me of the time I got maced because I was trying to tell a lady she had tucked her skirt into her pantyhose.

Sorry the pup didn't work out. :( And heh - for a minute there I thought it was going to be T1G surprising you!

Clearwater's not the only low place in the state. There are LOTS of overpopulated low areas where high tides could do some serious damage.
And being far from the coast is no guarantee of safe haven. We've had homes and roads flooded from heavy storm rains in all those neighborhoods built on former swamps.

On the scary guy, I can see it both ways. Robbers have portrayed good samaritans to get victims to stop. But that poor guy probably never had a clue you were scared to death of him.

What scared me was how he rolled down his window and was SCREAMING at me from his car window and was jabbing his finger towards me. It raised all the bells. He didn't point back at my gas cap, he pointed at MY FACE, like it was ME. And then he zoomed off.

I think he realized how bad he scared me. When he got to my gas cap, he was really friendly when I got a look at his face.

Yeah, good portions of Florida are low. George... there are sections of the gardens that really floods just during a heavy rain. But Clearwater... Tampa... really smacks of low and a lot of water.
