The point is that it was George Bush who took us to war on the lie, when he was being told by Hans Blix, Scott Ritter, and the like that there were no WMD. Moreover, the alleged mushroom cloud (yellowcake) and operative al-Qaeda links were also well known falsehoods before the Bush Iraq War began. I knew it also by following the British press reports.

Now we learn from Slam Dunk Tenet that Bush and Company did not even sufficiently discuss the Iraq threat to us at that time, that they had made the decision for war regardless of the intelligence, then sought to cherry pick the intelligence to bolster their case. Finally, Bush had a viable Saddam containment and isolation strategy/tactical alternative that he chose not to use.

So Bush was the last liar, and he acted upon this arrogant and deceitful rhetoric; that's when hundreds of thousands of people died. Their blood is on his hands!!!

Brilliant decision, brilliant implementation, Yes? Now look where we are: over 3000 American dead, 27,000 maimed, a polarized nation torn apart, deeper in debt, faced with a greater threat from an emboldened terrorist network and Iran, and isolated from most of the globe.

Good going George Bush, and good going Felix for trying to play the blame game with deceit in mind and further division in your heart, instead of contrition, redemption and reconstruction. It was and still is all about oil and a military position on land not our own. We were dead wrong, and will suffer a long time with another lost war if we continue on this Cheney/Bush course. Will we make it to January 8th, 2009?
