Comments: "Killer Nixon" Movie...Sheesh!

I find it odd that anyone would take more offense at having Nixon do the killing than at the fact that they're making a comedy about a person getting "brutally killed". "A hoot", indeed. Friggin' hilarious.

Movies about brutal killings get made all the time. That's old news, and it's unlikely to stop now. I just think that there should still be some respect attached to the office of the president, even if you don't approve of his policies (or in this case, former policies, etc.).

Yes, but the brutal killings movies are generally marketed as horror films, and aren't glibly called a "hoot". Now making a comedy about the president? Now that's certainly old news.

I believe the sexually repressed Nixon of Oliver Stone's "JFK "film is closer to the truth. That's how bad this other movie is, on Oliver Stone film appears more truthful

I am sure the folks at Cannes are beside themselves in anticipation for this fine example of American film culture.

Seen the film and it is not a comedy. I think maybe the director was saying that it was fun to make? The "Nixon" character was not clearly intended to be Nixon as far as I could tell. I think it is another great example of people taking what is said in celebrity gossip pages literally because they need something to write about.
