Couldn't have said it any better myself, Marshall!

Pam, you're welcome down here in the Lone Star state any time.

I also loved his quote regarding education that he uttered a while ago:

He said, "Every child has a right to public education, but public education does not have the right to every child."

He was my hero until he put out that executive order to have every school aged girl child inoculated with Gardisil HPV vaccine - mostly because of the campaign money he got from Merck... problem was that the vaccine was not very well tested and still has potential for very bad side effects - also the vaccine really doesn't protect you as well as annual pap smear exams which you still have to get anyway. HPV is really Merck's code word for Help Pay for Vioxx lawsuits. They are making a bundle as a result of their nationwide legislative push to make it mandatory school vaccine (as offered by certain female legislators in each state). CT rejected that legislation, thank goodness.

Judy - Yup, Gov. Perry (or "Governor Good-Hair," as we like to call him) can't seem to decide whether he's a conservative or a big-government-knows-all lib. That's the reason that so many rallied behind people like Kinky Friedman and Carol "Grandma" Strayhorn in the last Texas guber election -- Perry won reelection with barely over a third of the popular vote.

Now he's at it again: Yesterday down in Mexico City, Perry blasted the US for not passing the amnesty bill. (I posted on it here.) He just can't seem to decide which side of the fence to perch on.
