Comments: Weekend Thoughts...

"And in this country, of millions of people and women and education and opportunities… we get Hillary Clinton. What is up with that?"

I think about that all the time.

Tell Ringo we have to battle once I get home and get my Wii back (I had to send it to the Wii doctor). I'll get Mo to come over so she can play against him online as well.

Thanks for the warning on the Will Smith movie. I had that on my list to see but I DON'T do scary movies, so you just saved me.

Jim- I just don't get it. I just don't... and I said this to a woman I know yesterday and she said, "Oh, but I LIKE Hillary." I gave her a *blink*.

Sissy- Don't see it. You will not like it. I mean, you'd like his performance, but it is not a feel good feeling at the end. And it is scary... anxious. I don't think the commercials portrayed it as dark as it is.

And he wants to know what level you are on GH. He wants to battle you, but he's still practicing. He's only on the medium level.

well, this is oddly familiar...i talked to a very good friend of mine yesterday and they got a Wii with GH too (you know, for the kids). He played for hours...and hours...thats just funny. I, for one, can't wait to see I Am Legend...though not so much The Queen, she doesn't do scary either, i may be flying solo on that one.

I love Will Smith, but will wait until the movie comes out on DVD before seeing it... though I hate scary movies... it's Will! ;)

Great Bhutto reference! I don't care if her administration was corrupt or not, she's still head and shoulders above Clinton.

Battling helicopters? Oh Lord! I hope Arthur NEVER sees that!

I haven't heard of anyone yet who doesn't love the Wii and GH... what a great Christmas your kids had.

As for Will's new movie... sadly I saw the Popular Mechanics debunking of the junk science in it so I think I'll give it a pass even though I enjoy most of his movies. I wouldn't be able to suspend my disbelief anymore which would ruin it. LOL.

For some reason, this post didn't come up in my Google Reader [?] so I didn't see it until now, but I saw the other two on top of it. I, too, had thoughts about Benazir Bhutto, mostly kind thoughts.

I suppose what struck me was the people who the news interviewed in Brooklyn [we have the world's second largest Pakistani population, next to Pakistan]. The Pakistani people seemed so genuinely broken up and distraught at her untimely death and I guess, what with all the hate, mostly deservedly, directed towards Muslims, which I also admittedly subscribe to, I didn't previously think a single one was capable of a sincere, kind, or genuine thought.

And yet, I find myself kind of affected by their loss, and I can't quite explain it. For me, it was much like reliving the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin all over again. Unless one is truly a deranged radical, too far to the right or left, there was not a single Jew who rejoiced in his murder, and over the murder of Benazir Bhutto, I guess I feel some measure of solidarity with the Pakistani people. The non-radical, not too-far-to-the-right-or-left Pakistanis, that it.

In a way, she also reminded me a little of Golda Meir, too, because she seemed to possess -- despite her obvious position as a woman in power -- a warmth and maternalness...and that always appealed to me.

If I ever had a chance to meet her, I'm sure I would have liked her.

Well, if we get Hillary I reckon we will also get Bill..a twofer you might say..

GUYK - That makes it even worse!

Bou - You have a functioning brain. Many of the Hillary supporters don't. It could also be that you're an engineer and are capable of logical thought processes.

I have to believe that any of them, Hillary and Bill included, would be better than the stooge that currently holds the office.
