What? You've never seen Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo? Philistine!

(Actually I think that's the original title of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly)

At least rent Taxi Driver, and I'd agree with Cards Fan about the Hitchcock movies.

What, you've never seen The Princess Bride?

"Shawshank Redemption" #2? No way. Why's it even in the top 100? That movie was too sappy and I should be an expert on good sappiness. I'm a bleeding-heart liberal!

"To Kill a Mockingbird" #34? Way underrated. I heard a person make a persuasive case that the character Peck played in that movie is precisely the kind of hero-type we should promote in the US. Someone willing to go against the tide of culture to do the right thing and stand down deeply entrenched prejudices.

Here's one that makes no one's list but mine (that I know of): "A Passage to India." I think it is one the most profound and nuanced movies of all time. But that opinion is shared by no one I know.

Sorry Dana, but I gotta agree w/Shawshank's greatness. The only weakness IMO is Tim Robbins' acting. Everything else is terrific.
