I like the last one, but I'm having trouble imagining what you'd look like in it.

Of your 3, I would vote for #2, the 1895 model. However, before you finalize an answer, check this one which would certainly add the elements of flair and mystique to your legend among the commoners in the surrounding countryside...

I'm for #2, the 1895 version.
There's just something, odd, about it, just enough to work for you, I think.

why would you want a helmet to pith in? Can't you just stop and pith beside the road..just be careful and not pith on Sylvia

I have the Wolseley pattern myself but for wind I would have to at least consider the 1895 style. Tipped back slightly it should afford good neck protection without giving lift to the front portion. Of course with proper use of the chinstrap this should not be a problem with either one. The hat in the Zulu clip while stylish gives up too much protection that is required to fulfill the "Genuine redhead, Keep out of direct sunlight" requirement.

The choice is yours but then, of course, you'll have to grow a neat Errol Flynn-type moustache. A swagger stick. Definitely need a swagger stick to carry under your arm. Then wander about, muttering aloud, to no one in particular. "Bully!, Bully!,...Tea time?.. Right so!!"
That will put you in character and give the ladies at Eva's something to talk about besides green eggs.

How much of a geek am I? You said, Pith and my interst was piqued because, for a brief second there, I thought Sith.

Wait...maybe that makes me blonde and a geek.

I have one. A pith helmet. It belonged to my uncle back in the late 40's when he was working mines in the Congo. They are made of cork--the old ones anyway and have the white painted wrappings on top.

It's been so damn hot recently I've thought about putting it on to sit in the yard under an umbrella and drink tea. But I think I need porters and mosquito nets to pull that off.
