Comments: Tiger Woods and race

I care what Tiger says about race. Nike tried to make him into "the first great black golfer" but he was better than that. He diffused the race issue with a shrug. Obama could have done the same but he sees too much advantage in being the black candidate.
The way Tiger has handled race, has shown that he is not just a great athlete, we have plenty of those, he is a good man.

Good point, jef. And I guess I should amend what I said in the post -- it is definitely important that a phenom athlete be a good person if he/she wants to be "embraced." Tiger sure is that.

I am just overwhelmed at his skill level. It is beyond human!

They don't call him Tiger because he has yellow stripes.
