Comments: NASA confirms water on Mars

Just stumbled on your blog. Enjoyed most of it, some of it a lot!

Back in '66 & '67 I did assembler language programming on an IBM Sys 360. Lots of fun. Your list forgot one... HCF == Halt and Catch Fire.

Halt and Catch Fire? Sounds like some of the experiences I had during the Y2k progamming update. You'd be amazed at how many mistakes could actually get through unit testing, integrated testing and user acceptance testing before crashing to earth. Of course, since my pager went off at 2:00 a.m., I tended to crash right along with it.

It's good that the question has finally been answered. However, it's not all that simple. They've also found an oxidizing substance that they say is "detrimental" to us. We've got a long way to go before we can actually see a benefit in the red planet.
