Comments: An end of year question for Desmond Tutu

See, it doesn't count when black Africans enslave, oppress or murder each other, only when evil white colonialists do it. In Tutu's defense, he has been highly critical of Robert Mugabe, and also of his own country's continued support for the Zimbabwean dictator. From BBC: "(Mugabe) has, I mean, mutated into something that is quite unbelievable," Tutu said late Tuesday. "He has really turned into a kind of Frankenstein for his people."

And by the way, Tutu has also been highly vocal in calling for UN intervention in the Sudan, but Russia and China have blocked any action in the Security Council. (I met Bishop Tutu back in the 80s when he visited Washington Cathedral, and I respect him greatly. He may be wrong to call Israel an apartheid state, but I felt bound to defend him.)
