1) He has zero powers to do anything at the moment.
2) The actual president is on vacation and is doing nothing.
3) If presidents stopped every fun activity in their lives because of middle east violence they would never do anything aside from work.

Brian: I agree w/#3. But the point is the title -- didn't Obama promise "change?" Of course, it's proven now that that was a totally vacuous campaign slogan, but if he was all about change, wouldn't he be as engaged as he possibly could at this juncture? Sure he would.

But he's not really about change. And that's the point. Steve Newton, too, has posted about similar instances quite a bit of late.

Hube, what about Steve's points #1 and 2?

It is apparent already that you will be totally negative on Obama no matter what he does. Your continuation with the "messiah" moniker is just one of many examples of your ultimate partisan negativism. Atwater/Rovian all the way, right Hube? Your brand has yet to learn important historical lessons, lessons which have contributed to the rejection of your arrogant ideology, in my view.

Posted by Perry at December 31, 2008 11:29 AM

What I plan to do, Perry, is to be as hard on Obama as you and yours were on Bush. But I will be a lot fairer.

And congratulations -- it only took you 3 posts this time to invoke the name "Rove."

Spare me, again, your complaints of "negative partisanship." You practically invented the concept.

"Fairer" Hube???

What about Steve's #1 and 2?

What about "messiah"?

In my view, politically you act like a Rush Limbaugh acolyte.

Posted by Perry at December 31, 2008 11:58 AM

In my view, you act like a senile fossil. Know why? 'Cause I'm about as far from a Limbaugh acolyte as you can get. Which, if you weren't so fossilized in your cranium you'd have a clue.

And what the hell are "Steve's 1 and 2?"

Posted by Hube at December 31, 2008 12:00 PM

My mistake. I mean Brian's 1 and 2, which you conveniently ignored.

As far as your being far removed from Limbaugh's machinations, you are Limbaugh incarnate, in my "fossilized" view. Your Obama "messiah" fixation is but one of many clues, your wingnut partisanship is another.

Posted by Perry at December 31, 2008 01:55 PM

"Brian's 1 and 2" which is ...? I'm not a freakin' mind reader, 'ya know.

If I'm "Limbaugh incarnate" and that is so anathema to you, then here's a hint: Stay the f*** away from here if it bothers you so much.

As I said, you obviously haven't read a lot of my posts over the years else your senility wouldn't be overriding your common sense (what little you actually retain).

Posted by Hube at December 31, 2008 01:59 PM

Brian's 1 and 2 relate to the first comment in this thread -- Now who is senile, Hube?

Sure, your attitude at times annoys the hell out of me, which is why I look in from time to time. You need a good push back due to your occasional idiocy, the most recent being your comments on the Israel/Palestine situation. I doubt that you have studied the roots of this long-standing conflict with an unbiased eye. Moreover, I don't think you care about the misery of the Palestinians, especially right now the Gazans.

Posted by Perry at December 31, 2008 02:16 PM

I did address Brian's 1 and 2, idiot.

I know [a lot] more about the history in question than you, Perry. Your comments demonstrate that perfectly.

I'd care a lot more about the Palestinians' plight if they'd actually show a slight penchant for a long-lasting peace instead of the usual visceral and irrational hatred of all things Jewish.

And if you're so "unbiased," why aren't you at DE Liberal excoriating them for their hateful nonsense? That's right -- say it with me: "I, Perry, am a big hypocrite."

Posted by Hube at December 31, 2008 02:23 PM

I don't think you do know more, Hube. I give it to you that you have apparently absorbed quite well the Israeli side, as I don't think you are motivated to do otherwise. You are a serial ideologue!

And by the way, what is the "excoriating nonsense" that you are referring to?

I feel more inclined at times to push back at your "excoriating nonsense"!

Posted by Perry at January 1, 2009 11:50 PM

Perry: Spell it with me -- H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E.

Why do you not care about the lives of Jews, Perry?
