Comments: It's Here

Cold front? In mid may? In Florida? I may have to do some combined animal/human sacrifice for that.

We had excellent weather for the whatever'th Fifth Third (25K) Riverbank Run. Weather in the 40's, bouts of driving rain, and a course realigned to add a few hills. (The actual riverbank was unavailable because the Grand River is still over its banks in many places and it left too much silt and other organic matter on the riverbank roadways. The water contact ban had been lifted.)

We see tomorrow how the elite runners did. Just like the first riverbank run, I woke up, heard the rain, and turned over and went back to sleep. So much for my participation in the Riverbank Run.

" Here we go! We're off! Pray for a cold front! I already feel like a fish... I'm drinking air. "

Bou,
St. Paddy's day, 1967, Robert Edwards Argyll and I sat in what was then a combination 3.2% beer bar and hippster coffee house -- THE GREEN SPYDER -- a Scot and an Irishman!!!!

Needless to say, were not drinking coffee!

Three days later, Bob and I were in Winter Haven, at his grandparents house with horrific hangovers.

The two of us worked the citrus groves for about three months. Towards the end of our stay, I came to realize what it meant to "EAT AIR!"

The story of our time there can be found here:

It has much to do with RC Cola and Moon Pies, jiggin' for fresh water crab, home made grapefruit wine and learning about southern culture.

enjoy!
