Comments: Heads Up!

Detroit does look pretty bombed out. But I think it has been that way for the last forty years.

The folks over at neptunuslex think this is either p-shop or some kind of camera trickery to make the jet appear much closer to the building than it really is.

I just assumed it was some kind of telephoto phenomenon.

They can think what they want, the fact is, modern jet fighters are B-I-G. The plane in the picture is an F-18 Super Hornet, I'm not enough of a Go-Faster nerd to know if it's an E or an F, but it's over 60' in length and almost 45' in wingspan. To put that in perspective, the B=17 was only 15' longer, and it carried a crew of 10, so there you go. These monsters may share the NAME "fighter" with the likes of the Spitfire and the Mustang, but they dwarf them.

It's an F, as it's clearly a two-seater.
