Comments: Crap in my Head

Hiring 12-year-olds? Ha!
A friend's neice showed up at lunch wearing an FSU shirt. I asked her what she's studying, not realizing she'd already graduated. Oops.
At my volunteer gig, I never know if I'm talking to someone still in high school, college, or what. They ALL look equally "too young." I quit trying to guess ages.

The Gators? We got spoiled last year, they made it look too easy, so things don't look pretty at all this year, even though they keep winning. I wish them luck.

12 year olds... ROFLMAO... I immediately thought of my favorite funny book (the one I read whenever I need to laugh) "Getting Rid of Bradley" by Jennifer Crusie - cracks me up every time I read it (Yes I'm easily amused).

Congrats on getting your Webelos station under control. I'm not at all surprised it went well once you figured out that no one was in control. You have a knack for organizing and making things run.

As for the idiot who is the sperm donor for Sarah Palin's grandchild - the kid makes me cringe whenever I see him, he sounds so incredibly stupid. The press should be smacked for exploiting the mentally deficient.

And yes, I've seen that commercial. LOL. I didn't think about it that way - but now that you mention it... *grin*

It would be better if you put the video where the reader could watch it before the discussion of the symbology. That way you could see if your readers felt the same way about it, without prompting.

I did a similar sort of thing at the Texas Folklore meeting, demonstrating sand casting.

Two hundred 10-year-olds? Hopefully not all at the same time.

I do miss Boy Scouts though. Working with the kids, particularly the younger ones, was a real treat.

Wish I had known about the circuit making. Last year I did the circuit thing for Tot's 1st grade class. Had it all organized. The kids loved it and they all got to take the one they made home. Found some cheap stuff via my b-i-l... well worth it.

George- I'm going to quit guessing ages soon. I was at the Gator football game and looked at the cheerleaders and said the same thing to my husband, "When did they get middle school kids to cheer at the Gator games?"

Teresa- I'm always looking for new reads! I'll have to look it up! As for the Webelos, there were just huge process issues. That stuff makes me nuts. Now that I have a real process in place, I'm fine tuning it, getting rid of the next weak link: alligator clips and 20 gauge wire. Still working on that one...

Carl- I think I'd normally do that, but I'd hit post without the link at first, and then it occurred to me that there might be a link at youtube. The video was an afterthought.

DD- NO! Good Lord, no. I got about 10 kids at a time. There were about 100 kids per each session, morning and then afternoon. They'd go from station to station and I'd take them as I got them. I liked it when I go the stragglers... I could spend more time one on one or two on one. That was the best. You should go to your Scout council and ask them to help. Our council has a ton of volunteers who no longer have kids in scouting.

VW- We need to talk anyway. There may be a better way than I did it. I had 12x12 peg board and I Hot glued the battery pack, the light source and the switch. Joe attached the pack to the light source and we had them complete the circuit with wires with alligator clips. We also had them put in the batteries and the bulbs.

As for Sara Palin's daughter's baby~daddy, I just read that he is under contract with Entertainment Tonight. So he's getting paid to keep looking like a dumbass. And aren't you just on the edge of your seat, waiting for his spread in Playgirl? Not!

Bou - Don't you remember during the election his mother was busted for drugs? It was a big story then. Now that they are using this kid against Palin, they're keeping his mother out of the news. Media bias? Agendas? Naw!

Speaking of children, that's what we called most of our support staff at IBM Education support. Members of the host team (MVS and VM, yannow, those extinct mainframe platforms) were all over 40. The AS/400 person was as well. The RISC, image support, PC classroom support were all kids. We oldsters called them "the children". They also didn't understand 24/7 support. Every Wednesday we had what I called the inquisition meeting where we discussed readiness for the upcoming week and problem records. Host and AS/400 problems were usually resolved in less than two hours. The children would sometimes take days to close their problem records. That is just one reason that mainframes aren't dead.

Hi there,

i read a statement made by you on this site

And i wanted to throw my 5 cents in.

Vegetarian means nothing from a dead animal...and fish does not grow on trees. There is nothing like a vegetarian who is eating fish. Than penguins had to be vegetarians.

Also prefering a specific food does not make someone a carnivore or omnivore, or herbivore animal.

Than cows which are feed ground dead animals had to be carnivores.
But you can feed a cow as much dead cows as you like, their internal organs, their enzymaztic system will stay the same. They will not loose 3 of their stomachs or shrink their colon and defenitely not grow a lion-like jaw.

Humans have the same organs and enzymatic system as did not change much over the couple of million years that was needed to form modern humans.

Humans did not develop a stomach with 10 times more chloric acid or produce 5 times more urikase than chimpanzees.

Thats the reason why humans get so easily food poisoning and arthritic/rheumatic illnesses because the chloric acid is not enough to kill bad germs and the uricase is too low to destroy all the bad uric acid that is in our body when we stay on the modern diet with 20% animal based foods.

Apes have a diet with 5% animal based food, if they are feed a western diet they develop all this nice *modern* illnesses that have been common in the royal people in ancient times ...and these royal people all ate diets high in animal foods, like the common modern human does...

And if we still have the same organs and enzymatic system like our ancestors normally everybody should realise that we should have a similiar diet to stay healthy.

Also i saw an old blog entry from you where you wrote that you do not want to eat genetically altered vegetables and cloned animals.

The problem here is that people want it cheap and as much as they can get no matter what it will cost them otherwise as long as it is not money.
And genetically altered vegetables, potatoes and meat/milk are already on the market, it is just not written on the label that it is altered.
And the farm animals are genetically altered..with weight gain and egg do you buy goods with non organic eggs, or do you make all stuff yourself?
A bull is now able with the help of technology to impregnate 200 cows with one go..cows all over the world are related, that is just as worse as cloning them or genetically altering them because this way germs have an easy game to infect the animals because the immunic system is all the same..there is no need to develop a different *key* to get in the body and trick the white blood cells.
The germs can use the same old tricks because all the millions of cows/pigs/chickens are inbred...hooray for pig flu.

If you want to have a chance on changing this horror scenario you have to do your part and inform the people ...especially what it means for them to eat this crap and how they can make a change themselves, because the goverment, the farming industry and scientists surely will do not.

Oh, and one last thing...if you think about beeing a vegetarian your family has not to be vegetarian.

i have some bad health issues that forced me to change my diet, i am the only adult in my family who eats animal free, when the others cook, o cook something different from me, or we make different dishes from which i can choose.

or when i cook and it is something everyone likes i make enough for everyone. Even my friend who has not very high cooking skills can make himself something if he does not like what i made...and he hates nearly all vegetables and fruits are a no i think i can relate to your family.

Where is Levi Johnson's mother? In jail for dealing crystal meth. 'Splains everything, doesn't it?
