I'm proud of my teacher association on this one. They sided with our state's governor when he decided not to seek this one-time infusion of cash that brings long-term federal mandates.

Hube thanks for the kudos. I did my best to wake the sleeping community and clueles state legislators. However, it's NCLB all over again but on steroids . I remember the early days back in 97 when I was called a misguided parent for opposing DSTP. Hours upon hours with legislators such as Sokola, letters to Carper and bitching at Tanner down at DOE. But now DSTP is history because state legislators and Markell says it's a bad test.

I am with Rhymes With Right,

I lived in the wonderful State of Texas (Orange) for about two years but I never leave X's in Texas. I brought her ass back to Delaware where I found her.

Hube, I gave notice that I am done blogging( didn't say I wouldn't comment on other blogs) about Race to The Top. It's a done deal in Delaware and God help us all! Duncan is making his "Moon shot" with a scud missile.

$4.35 billion dollars is peanuts is the scope of education financing and is a very small price to pay to advance charter schools and crack the foundation of organized labor. Looks like the DSEA folks are starting to have buyer's remorse

"Unfortunately, unless a lot more emphasis is placed on the enormous problem of fatherlessness, and on the violence that plagues way too many city schools, it will extremely tough to fully close that gap"

Yes true! Also, let's not forget the righteous community leaders, the so-called civil rights leaders feeding of the poor by not holding the community to task to step up! There is money to be made of the poor and just like the days when Africans helps the slave traders round up innocent black men, women and children, todays Uncle Toms fill their pockets and look the othe way.

Hillary Clinton did make sense , "it takes a village to raise a child"

Obama's message to school children required a teleprompter.
