Comments: Gratuitous Grammy Observation
I do not believe I have ever heard a single song of Beyonce's

I think it's like Charo, but without the suave stylings of Xavier Cugat.

I probably have seen Beyonce on SNL -- but it was unremarkable to me.
Lady GaGa was on this season, and she's got a terrible act, but when she sat down at the piano and actually played music and sang, she was pretty good. She needs to drop the schtick and simply play. Michael Buble was amazing. Definitely will have to check him out some more.

Last new artist I got into was Nora Jones.

real country (e.g., Alan Jackson, George Strait, Randy Travis)

Amen -- though my tastes run even further back -- Hank Sr. (I guess it's I now), Loretta Lynn, Townes Van Zandt, Flatt & Scruggs... and among modern artists, I lean towards Dwight Yoakam -- with his revival of hte Bakersfiend sound and flouting of Nashville Pop-with-a-twang.
