Comments: Buffalo......

I loved the book and the movie. We were living in NM where the Montana part of the movie was shot - in Angel Fire, NM.

I haven't ever seen it. I was busy with young kids at the time it came out and had just headed back to college for 5 years... by the time I looked around again - I had missed lots of things. LOL. I'll have to see about getting hold of it and watching some time.

@Teresa

You have never seen Lonesome Dove?

Snap to it...as Eric said...it is one of the best Westerns ever made. Well written and the cinematography ain't bad either.

I bought it about two years ago, mostly because you and commenters here raved about it so much. I finally watched it recently, spread out over two nights.
Wow. I'm ready to watch it again. Loved it.

If I had to list my five favorite books of all time, "Lonesome Dove" would be one of them. Loved the movie as well.

That's some good stuff. I saw LD on TV several times, but never got a chance to see it in its entirety, I do believe my Netflix que will be modified shortly. :)

Never seen Lonesome Dove. But McMurtry is the most dependable source for reading pleasure known to Cappy now.

Well, damn, if I didn't feel just like poor dim Pea, missing out on the last Hysterics. Remember when you talked me through the movie a year or two ago, and I kept telling you what part it was up to, and you were like, "Keep watching" or "Pay attention to what Gus says here..." This movie always makes me think of you.
