Comments: So What Did YOU Do Tonight?

I always thought your hub was a very lucky man, but now, he is a very lucky man and very "cool" dad. BTW, did Ozzie mumble anything intelligible ?

Blizzard of Ozz was a favorite of mine in high school.

It's sad to say that even though I am a bit older than your husband, I don't know much about the music of my era. *sigh* I just never paid attention. I am not an audiophile and never will be.

Yes, I've heard of Ozzie, I probably even know some of his music (although I'm going to bet not very much). But I couldn't tell you who he played with or even that he went solo... I'm so bad. LOL.

If it was Ozzy's crowd, it DEFINITELY wasn't an emo crowd. Ozzy's crowd would EAT all the emo kids and spit them out in tiny chunks!

B-)

And yes I did know that Ozzy sang with Black Sabbath before the whole solo thing.

I am a couple years younger then you and even *I* knew Ozzy was lead for Black Sabbath

AND

I hate that kind of music, never listened to it (that includes the Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, etc)

ACK! I'm jealous!

I don't mind my crazy schedule so much when it means waiting on the kids...like you, I've found that's 'my' time...reading, surfing the net if it's near wi-fi...and you have Ozzy to thank for it!

Ozzy does clean up well. He sometimes shops at the grocery store I shop at. He seems much smaller, and way more put together in person. I have the feeling that some of his TV persona is an act.

T looks older than I expected.

Mike D- From what my husband said, Ozzy said nothing, but when he looked up and saw T there, that HE was there to have the book signed, Ozzy had a smile 3 miles big. He went from just seeming good to be there, to genuinely warm and happy. It made my husband smile inside. My husband is a good guy.

PT- Was it Black Sabbath we listened to on the school bus? What in the world was that?

TN- You evidently didn't listen to it with me around. I don't remember it.

Teresa- I was into different things. I remember the music of my era, but I didn't own scads of albums and sit and listen to them all day like other kids I knew. Music was there... but my life didn't revolve around it.

Walrilla- He used the word Emo, but I think what he meant was Goth. It was the whole dressed in black, black nail polish, dark look. To him it's Emo.

QW- While I don't hate it, I don't love it. It most definitely doesn't move my soul. It was stoner music to me... and although I had friends that were in that crowd in HS, they weren't who I predominantly hung with. We had different interests after school...

WB- He is so proud of that signature! And my husband has told everyone he knows that they got it!

Mrs. Who- Oh absolutely. Anyone with the crazy work and kid schedule completely gets my down time love. I was telling someone today, hell, waiting in that car for 3 hours was akin to being at a spa!

DDP- You know... I would not be surprised, although I have heard that when he speaks, the brain is rather fried.

Curtis- Oh that would be... 50 years?! :)

Did you see in the paper that some nitwit got arrested for smoking pot INside the bookstore? That kinda stupidity gives dopers a bad name....

Posted by George at February 28, 2010 10:20 AM

Oh you should TOTALLY have T read that book before he's 16 ... it shows drug taking in a WAY bad light... Ozzy being thrown out of Sabbath for being too out of it all the time... being arrested with Motley Crue for stuff he doesn't remember doing... it's almost a handbook of 'don't follow this path because...'. Plus you only have to see him on TV to see the brain damage long term drug taking causes... and to a smart guy like T that would be perceived to be the biggest waste of all.

Great post.

Black Sabbath was 1971. By 1981 Ozzie was solo.
