Comments: Random Commuter Observations

Greetings:

I guess business is up at Accenture since they turned Tiger Woods loose.

I think Accenture is the current iteration of one of those nefarious accounting firms that got caught with its "Enron" showing. Either that or it's reverse-psychology branding.

Accenture started life as the consulting wing of Arthur Andersen, Andersen Consulting. They split in 1989 and the divorce was final in 2000. The Accenture name came in on 1/1/2001 and as a result they suffered no spillover effect from the Enron/Arthur Andersen debacle.

The other major consulting firms (by which I mean Deloitte) use a very colorful, not-so-family-friendly version of Accenture's name to describe their business practices. Which is, of course, well-earned.

(Not that there are any shining stars of decency in the big consulting world or anything...)
