Comments: A Week of Random Thought

Sweet Jesus Christ! Who the hell wants to look out their windows to see these stinking, prehistoric man-eating monsters? Anyway, thanks for pointing me to a hotel in which I will never set foot. Yeef!

If they think you look grandmotherly - I sure as hell don't want to know what they'd think of me. Yeesh! You certainly don't look old enough to have grandkids unless they thought you started having your own kids in kindergarten.

I know what you mean about keeping in shape. I work out very hard, but don't have as much discipline with my diet (outside of cutting the additives and preservatives) as you do - you are friggin' amazing.

Then again I was never "thin" always "regular" now I just can't get rid of some bulges. *sigh* It is what it is. At least I stay a consistent size 12... or I'd have to give up finding clothes as few in that size fit me right. Heh.

I LOVE my Audi A4 although it's got nearly 110,000 on it. I'm seriously looking at the A3 because I think it's excellent. They drive beautifully (the steering is outstanding on all the German cars) but they are expensive to fix. If I was living in a city I'd be seriously looking at a VW - I love them too. It's hard to drive the regular American/Asian cars after driving my Audi - they just aren't quite as tightly put together... Best thing for you is that you don't need the 4WD in FL - that will keep expenses down considerably.

Oh and LOL at Jim.

Kind of a zen epiphany [not that I'm familiar with either of those], you just say, "oh, you're referring to my great granddaughter! Works for great grandsons, nephews, nieces, kids but probably not turtles.

So much more pleasant to take the shepherd off to places like that hotel in Memphis where every morning they bring the baby ducks down in the elevator to parade into the lobby fountain. Cute too. Way better than turtles. :)

I love my Escape. I bought new in 2006, it's still doing great.

I have had a grey streak in my hair since I was about 21. People (strangers even) would ask me if I colored it that way. On purpose! *snort*

I don't get that question anymore...guess I look old enough for grey now (44 like you). *sigh*

Don't feel bad, Bou. I am just waiting for the day someone asks if our youngest is a grandson. It will happen. I get "ma'am"ed to death. Makes me feel like some lemon-faced old biddy. And I'm not even a senator ...!

Well you know I am going to say Ford Escape just because but I also leased an Escape a few years ago and with it. It is the most awesomeness car in the world. When I get a new lease in hopefully the fall it will be and Escape. I think of it as the SUV for shorter people!

And the arthritis, start taking the Glusemaine/Chondrotin supplement now. It can take a few weeks to work but by god that shit it awesome! Took it for years and it did wonders for me, know many many people who take it and it did wonders for them also. It has been throughly tested (double blind studies) and is even recommended by doctors and rheumatologists.

Also it maybe a good idea to see a rheumatologist now to get baseline "readings" on your hands (ie someone to see what they are doing, maybe x-rays, etc).

And start a routine with ice when they hurt and maybe some exercises for them (squeezing soft balls, etc) to keep them "lubricated". Arthritis in the hands sucks so bad because after awhile you loose stregth and start dropping stuff, can't open shit, writing goes all to hell. My writing is near illegable until I have been up and about for a few hours.

QW - I have a 2001 Escape and love it, and while it may be fine for short folks, I'm 6-foot-3 and it has plenty of room for me too.

I love the gators in the hotel lobby. Seems like every tourist who comes to Florida wants to see gators, so folks staying there can check that off their list right off the bat.

Bou - This may be too late but they will prolly treat (or should treat) your fil with IV Rosefin. This is hardcore stuff. It kills everything, even the good stuff in the intestines. Make sure he gets either Lactaid or Culturelle to prevent diarrhea.

My mom swears by turmeric for the arthritis in her fingers. Her knuckles are essentially normal size now. I should add that I'm 52 so you can figure she's no spring chicken.

Better than my friend Graeme - when he went to visit his wife in hospital after their first child was born (she was 32 he was 40) they announced "Jane your father is here to see you!"!!
