Comments: Homer Continued

Hooray! I tried to think of something encouraging and hopeful to say last night but compared to possible blindness everything sounded so lame. I wanted to say I knew she could see and everything would be fine (but I didn't know that) and how grateful you will be when she's thirteen and she rolls her eyes at you for the first time and says "Oh, Daaaaaad," (but no parent is ever really grateful for that) and how you'll promise yourself you won't say a single negative word when she first starts experimenting with eye makeup because you love her so much you'd rather die than crush her burgeoning self esteem (you'll bite your tongue nearly in half the first time she comes out of the bathroom with raccoon eyes, trust me on that) and how the first time she sets her little phasers on stun and makes pretty eyes at a cute boy your heart will explode and how on her wedding day her eyes will be so bright and shiny with unshed tears because she's so happy to be marrying the man of her dreams but all of that sounded so lame last night I couldn't being myself to say any of it.

But today it doesn't sound so bad, and our prayers were answered, and she can see! Booyah to the preemie demon!
