Comments: Lanny Davis Arrives to Spin Gunwalker

There is another untold story here. While Holder and friends may have directed this operation, it could not have been conducted without a couple of handfulls of field agents and every one of the supervisors, managers, district directors and officials between the guy on the ground and Holder. Every one of them participated. None of them objected to the point of making their objections public or resigning. Gunwalker could not have happened if a substantial number of field agents had refused, citing it as an obvious violation of the law. Specifically, a law they were hired to uphold. The problem is bigger than Holder. He certainly needs to go down in flames, but he should not go down alone. Too much focus on him and the obvious fact that as AG he is, in fact, above the law, will cement the policy in teh BATFE that going along with clearly illegal official sanctioned programs is a good career move.

Thank you. I've excerpted your article in my blog, and linked to it.

You would think that conservative Republicans, who are known to emphasize law enforcement, would be providing the ATF and other law enforcement with the maximum number of tools to control and track these guns. These include closing loopholes in laws that facilitate following guns across the border and imposing strict reporting requirements for gun purchases to help combat gun trafficking.
So, according to Lanny Davis, if there is an epidemic of arson, the law enforcement community and Congress should supply the arsonists with lots of material for starting fires. This will result in more fires so we can ultimately stop the arson.

How about just arresting the arsonists? I think that concept might have worked for the gun runners and cartels, too.

But that would be too simple. There's only one reason to increase the number of illegal guns crossing the border into Mexico. It's in this part of Davis' comments:

These include closing loopholes in laws...
That includes the so-called "gun show loophole". It's merely another brick in the wall of gun prohibition.

And Lanny Davis is a despicable individual.

you know just sayin, all of that is true,

I think you could have left out everything but this--- "And Lanny Davis is a despicable individual."

It's futile to keep pointing out the left's hypocrisy, childish rationalizations, and just plain idiocy.

What Davis promotes would be appropriate for an essay from a "yoot" in junior high school.
