Comments: For Whom the Bells Toll

My oldest... hates it. They have them playing the 'c' note on an xylophone. Yaa... my son who has been in band for a year playing snare and bells (large xylophone to me) is playing... a c note over and over again. He is very unhappy. I wonder if I can get him moved.

I would talk to them. He's in that in between age...

I was in a summer camp hand bell choir when I was 11 or 12. I loved it. I still wish I could be in a hand bell choir, and have contemplated joining a local church just so I can do that.

T should love it!

... never played the handbells, but I can tell you that my experience with white gloves has been a bit painful..... learning the sword manual in dress blues with white gloves is pretty danged difficult......

Writersblock- It would be cool if they had a community handbell choir. I'd want to try it!

Eric- Well, in the eyes of T, I feel strongly he would think wearing white gloves would be far different being in the Marine Corps than carrying A, Aflat, B, and Bflat bells... ;-)

I wish I had him on video when he talks about it. It's really funny. He had his head in his hands today, shaking his head saying, "Mom. We are so bad. And it's NOT going to get any better..."

Evidently all the little jumpy boys just want to ring their bells. He's horrified...

That's pretty funny, as it brought to mind this old gem from our friend, El Capitan.

Have you ever hear "Carol of the Bells" done with handbells?

It's almost spiritual.
