Comments: The RatMobile: Conclusion...

Mo is right about the squirrels. They may look a bit cuter, but if you ever get one in your house you will soon realize they are highly destructive. We had one get into our basement the day before Thanksgiving the first year we lived in this house. (still don't know how that happened)

OMG what a mess. I was just thankful he didn't decided to chew on the electric wires for whatever reason... but so much other destruction during the few hours before he was trapped. Had to call in pest removal the guy was fantastic. Came out right away, set the traps and came back on Thanksgiving day to take away the pest.

We also had a family of mice move into our outside a/c unit and chew up all the wires in it. *sigh* I hate all rodents.

Mice are bad. But rats are infinitely worse. Not just because they're bigger, but they're smarter and tougher to catch. We had one in our house back when AJ was just a few weeks old and it would regularly run our gauntlet of traps, leaving nothing but a few hairs. Finally broke down and put out poison and it at least had the decency to die someplace we could find it rather than smell it. And the SOB was huge!

I hope you mounted his little rat head on a pike as a warning for the others...

We have canal rats because of all the water, but the dogs keep them at bay, thank goodness. They give me the willies!
