Comments: He May Deliver in Sleet, but Not to MY House

hahahaha... that is funny. Ok, maybe not if you really needed something but I would love to be able to do that to my life occasionally... Just stop being bothered for 2 weeks. Yaa, not gonna happen. ;-)

Red sent me an overnight package (guaranteed) via USPS.
On the second day I went to the post office to inquire.
Now, I need to explain that they were working on the street in front of my house. Not really an issue as the road was blocked off for less than a block, I live on the corner and the other street was open to traffic.
When the clerk brought my package, emblazoned on the front was the hand written note, 'could not deliver, road clossed'. Yes the note actually said 'clossed'.

Thank god these people are now in charge of our healthcare.

I'm thinkin' that's one of the reasons why they need to get a boost in the price of stamps once again!! Gotta pay for those screw ups somehow!!

The post office hates me. I'm surprised that hasn't happened here as yet. The last mail lady I had disliked me so much she wouldn't deliver any packages to my house if there was snow on the ground, even if the driveway was clear. Or if she did have to deliver a package, she'd come up to the porch, stand at the bottom of the four steps and throw the package at the front door. (for my neighbor - this same mail lady would bring every package to her door along with all her mail and ring the bell and wait to deliver it so I know she could have been polite enough if she wanted to be)

Now we have some part time people delivering mail and I'm constantly getting mail for neighbors. I put it back in the box and put the flag up. Annoying. Heaven knows if I get all my own mail. I'm guessing not. As much as people everywhere seem to malign UPS, they seem to be able to deliver packages to me without incident.

My mailman hates Jack. I bought a bunch of antique 78s on eBay. When they came, I went out tower the mailman. Jack attacked him. The mailman threw my box of records at my dog!
Luckily, no one got bit and the records were packaged well enough none broke.

Mailman inspects my yard before delivering my mail every day now though...
