Comments: Christmas Perspective

I had one last gift for my wife show up on the doorstep literally an hour before gift opening began. My wife ordered something for me that apparently was shipped from Japan and although it was "intransit" as of the first week of December, it's not expected to get here until mid-January. :D I keep telling her that it's ok, but she's not a happy camper.

Ted- it is one thing to be disappointed and irritated. It is a whole other thing to rant and rave and declare Christmas ruined as I'm hearing. That's kind of blown me away...

We had something similar happen with an ornament we ordered from the other side of the state. They shipped it via USPS who routed it through New York.

Our package to my brother in FL was delivered by UPS to an abandoned house on another street. I will be lodging the complaint today.

And the abandoned house thing DEFINITELY deserves a complaint. Honestly I've had my own issues w UPS having nothing to do w Christmas. I'm not their biggest fan due to an incident a few years ago. Being on a conference call w some guy in India who worked for Dell reading the condescending riot act to the losers w attitude at UPS was a highlight of my life. I wish there had been a recording.

But... I'm not going to scream they ruined my Christmas.

I got off to a late start shopping this year, and so did most of it locally. The one gift I did order late got here on the 26th. The company that shipped it promised delivery by Dec. 23, and they upgraded my shipping for free, so I paid regular delivery charges. Which means I wasn't ripped off, since I got regular delivery. I DO think, however, that what needs to happen is for delivery services to not make inflated promises they may not be able to keep. This would force people to accept the reality that if they order late, they might just be out of luck. Underpromise and overdeliver is a very good motto to live by!

Had to laugh since we still are awaiting several items... my biggest problem was losing the ONE present one of my daughters "Would have loved." Ordered another one a couple of days ago... today I found it.
