Comments: The Perspective of Ducks by Bones

In reverse order:

3) I think you need to look at the pictures of the men before they grew the beards, that would give you a hint regarding the women. (cf espn)

2) I don't know. When I grow mine, I trim it using a butch haircut tool to keep it the same length. Then again ask the two bearded ones from ZZ Top.

1) You wash your hair frequently (each day?) don't you. Its the same with a beard. It is no different than when my daughter's had hair long enough for me to braid. As far as getting food in the beard, you just have to be a bit more careful to not spill down your front, or wash it afterwards. (That may be the reason I don't wear ties. Same problem, but harder to wash.)

Napkins are your friends. I check my beard after each eating/drinking session in a mirror or on my iPhone. I also carry around a very small comb and groom often throughout the day.

Men who wear beards find that they are very functional. In the winter they protect the cheeks and chin from wind burn or frost bite. Many hunters grow beards for hunting season. In the summer they prevent sun burn. And if you're a bagpiper a beard absorbs the drool from the corners of your mouth when you're playing a long, difficult piobaireachd.

It's not the beard thought itself, it's the SIZE of those beards. It's like they have another whole head of hair growing off their chins... and it's not normal hair. It's lots and lots of crazy curly thick hair... like something a bird would nest in.

Bou, do you have something against birds?

I just wanted you to know you won the internet. I just did the following search: the most beautiful photograph ever taken in the history of the world ever
and got the following photo as the first image on google, out of 1.6 billion results. The 2009 page is archived so I am commenting here. Congrats, Bou.
