Comments: Lost Respect

Un-check "Follow"; the soft unfriend.

I've done that before and I'm going to do it with her. My biggest struggle is I may actually have to see her in public and I'm not sure I can be civil.

It is that bad.

I have to get past this. It is not healthy. I have a friend that is a priest. I'm going to have to talk to him about this.

I'm genuinely concerned that the filter will disappear when I see her and I'll say something like, "Are you f*cking stupid?!" because that's what I think when I read her stuff.

Ugh.

If you had not found out about it on facebook, it would have come out in public and that would have been worse. Now you have time to deal with it. Pigeon hole her in a box like you do the customeres you don't like. You have to deal with them but not be friends with them. Same here.

I just unfollowed her because the stuff she puts up, I cannot stomach. I'm hoping I don't see her.

I am going to miss watching that guy do the huge smackdown, but not enough to see her crap pop up on my feed.

I have a "friend" on FB that does the same thing....posts stuff that I have a helluva time NOT saying, "Are you THAT dense?"...and worse. LOL I've tried to argue with him...and he's like a pit bull...he never just lets it go, so I've stopped trying to do that. And I have the same problem...I'd unfollow, but I enjoy the smackdowns by others too much. When he posts something that I just cannot tolerate, I just check the "I don't want to see this" box.

I will be cordial. I will be cordial. It is the politics of the position I am to hold in their society, that I have to be able to play well with everyone.

It may be harder than I thought it would be. ;-)

And I'll say, this is a first where someone's political beliefs have set me off. I have heard all sorts of stuff and I am always, "What will be will be."

Bou - You're a class act and you have the discipline to be polite. However, I saw an interview with Charles Krauthammer (video) and another with a soldier (written article) which tempered the anger in me slightly, and I will send those to you since they may help. This is a very emotionally charged situation. We have some old friends (a husband and wife) who are Obama supporters who my husband will no longer talk to. I avoid discussing any news items, but still converse superficially. I think at some point the man at least (a veteran who receives his health care through the VA) will be forced to reckon with his loyalty to this disaster of a president.

Peggy-
In my original post a commenter put up a good post for me to read. I responded and I really liked the link.

Amy- I'm a step ahead! I went to his page last week to see who he was and was seriously thinking of friending him. I refrained. ;-)
