Nice work here, Hube. This is the kind of piece comic websites would do if they were actually interested in being honest with readers. These guys don't like blogs like yours (and that's putting it nicely) because there are so few people who are willing to shine a spotlight on their hypocrisy.
As i've said before, just let Marvel Studios handle it.
Morrison's a massive hypocrite. He gladly plugged his own viewpoints into his comics but copped an attitude when Miller did the same.
@ Doug: Thanks, brotha. :-)
Probably be a lot more interesting if it came out years ago and wasn't such a slow burner with copycat characters, threadbare plotting, artwork out of M.C. Escher, and wasn't indicative of a man in need of medication to make his mind process coherent.
"seems like a decadent indulgence when real terrorists are killing real people"
...So what comic book does this NOT apply to? I love how these comic guys constantly build their own gallows to hang themselves from.
Cap going after the tea party? "Well isn't that decadent indulgence when we've got those real tea party terrorists out there?" (should be interesting to see if they try coping to a tea party == terrorist view)
Cap going after those protesting illegal immigration? "Well isn't that decadent indulgence when we've got real gang members and criminals attacking citizens out there?"
Doc Ock wanting to genocide lots of people? "Well isn't that decadent indulgence when we've got real dictators killing people out there?"
Yes, Grant, comics are a decadent indulgence. You want everyone to stop reading them so you can go get a "real" job?
