Thanks for this great post.

You couldn't find a more un-stereotypically-military family than ours, but my father and I both saw wartime combat. Dad much more so than myself, he was in the Pacific in WWII ... artillery. I saw action in 1990-91 with the Marines in Desert Storm.

I'm always amazed at how little the civilian world understands, or wants to know, about military life and what it's all about. Thanks for sharing the stories of your husband and your father. You, too, as a military family member, are making a greater contribution than you will ever know.
