"This is not a partisan issue. Let's not make it one, may we all stand in solidarity with our friends from the other side of the pond"

I agree. But guess who has already made it a partisan issue, though?

Billmon said it best: "Conservative con artists will figure the angles and work out the attack lines to use against the liberals -- whatever it takes to drown out the fact that, nearly four years after 9/11, Bin Ladin still lives and Al Qaeda is back in business. Mission unaccomplished."

I listened to Rush today while on the road. I heard this very line . . . the attack this morning was the fault of Durbin and Boxer and everyone on the left, by extension. They are not full-throated enough in their support for the Iraq war. They (we) are not obliged to just shut their (our) mouths about arbitrary wonton and lawless abuses of liberty at prison facilities. So they (we) caused it to happen.

I heard this . . . carefully explained to me . . . today, before I had even heard the news of what had actually happened. Even before all of the blood had dried on the sidewalks.

If you want to make a plea for non-partisanship, you know where to direct it.

I listened to the same Limbaugh program. That is why I made the plea. I am not directing this at anyone, but yet at everyone. I just want to be sad for our friends in the U.K. without Karl Rove or Howard Dean's help. Maybe I am wrong... But it is how I feel.

Oh and BTW Rush Limbaugh is a fucking moron. He spews hatred from his soul and can not be anything but venomous. I take no creedence in anything the oxycontin man says except for that he has some good prescription drugs for sale.

Rush Limbaugh is a jackass. I used to commute with someone who listened to him every time he drove. That's OK. When Clinton won I was driving and made the winger listen to NPR.... ;)

Sorry, I can't resist this. Reminds me of some people residing in certain red states who maybe hold right wing philosophies.

"I listened to the same Limbaugh program. That is why I made the plea"

Good. Some backup.

It seems lately that when the left is steadfast, it means that they are obstinate and obstructionalist. When the right is steadfast, it demonstrates their inherent moral character.

I'm glad you still listen to Limaugh. I do too.

I sometimes think you are slipping away, Jess. I am encouraged by your courage, however.
