Comments: Loads of [linky love] and more

I have never gotten that rpc ping to go through....

Just to clear up: My blogroll on my site show the most recently updated blogs on my roll. There is no way I could put that whole list on my blog, way too long.

Well, michele, then I should be on your main page often, as I sometimes update fairly often. Of course, it does not help that, for some reason, my blogroll update pings seems to do nothing at all. My site never seems to show as updated on anyone's blogroll.

Tiger, I'm sorry to withhold information. I could have swore I posted a fix for the Weblogs error. This happens quite often and it really isn't an error. My guess is that Weblogs isn't handling it traffic efficiently so it can't send back a "Ping Received" message to Movable Type. Movable Type, by default, waits 15 seconds for the response and if it doesn't get it you get the nice little message that you have been getting. If I am not mistaking, the ping almost always goes through, MT just doesn't get the response. So it is a timeout error. There is a file called "mt.cfg" and the timeout entry key name is "PingTimeout". The default value is 15. Mine is set to 60 seconds. I found this through Brad Choate a few weeks ago. If you have trouble adding this setting, check back to my site for I will try to give a little more info. Or at least a link that has more info.

PS: Thanks for the link love, your too kind.

Sorry, I know you were talking about Blogrolling, but I think the problem is the same.

Thank you for this mention and for the other recent one as well. The strange thing is that neither of these is found by Technorati or the Ecosystem. Go figure. The same thing happened with a recent mention by Acidman. I don't get it.

As for the blogroll, your site is on the mental list I keep of sites that I plan on moving from my bookmarks to the blogroll. I hope to get to it this week. No kidding.

No, I do not have comments because Blogger doesn't have them. If I cannot figure out how to get a simple logo onto the page, there is no way I would even try to tackle getting comments from some other source on there. However, all that may change in the near future.

Thanks again.
