Comments: How I spent my afternoon

Thank goodness you're okay. I hate when that happens!

Posted by LindaSoG at May 2, 2007 07:07 PM

So sorry - that just sucks!!!

ACK! Glad you're OK, but damn, that still sucks!

Posted by Beth at May 2, 2007 07:37 PM

Holy crap!

Very glad you are okay.

Yikes!

I'm so happy that you are okay! ...and when I see what happened to your ride versus theirs, I'm happy to be a proud SUV owner as well!

Hopefully you don't get stiff or have any lingering issues. I'll be thinking about you!!!

Ouch!I'm so happy you are okay. Be sure and insist that they check your baby car's frame - if it's bent, it will never ever be right again.

I know from sad experience!

Wow! Looks like your Escape really is "built Ford tough!" That's impressively little damage, all things considered, and the fac that your SUV was in between the hurtling red thing and that Mini probably saved the Mini driver from some serious badness.

Whew! I'm so glad you're all right!

Oh my gosh how awful. I am so glad you are OK!!!!! Thank God you have an SUV, I love mine too and feel so much safer in it.

whew I am so relieved you are ok.

SUVs **RULE**!! I got rear ended (double tap, too) a few weeks ago. The truck which rear ended me was a Ford F150 - his front bumper got bent. The little sedan which rear ended him went underneath his rear bumper, and got CREAMED.

My Ford Explorer? Not a dent. YAY!!!!

I am so glad you're OK, CTG - any more word on the other person's insurance/status? Were they distracted or something more idiotic?

GOOD GAWD GIRL.

I am so thankful you are OK. People DIE getting hit from behind at speed.

DIE.

As in DEATH.

Start picking out a new car...yours is TOTALED. The frame will be hopelessly bent with a direct hit like that, even if it looks kinda superficial. And if your POS carrier WON'T total it out>>>slip the guy at the garage a $50 spot and TELL HIM TO KEEP DIGGING AND LOOKING>>>

GEEEEEEEEEEEZZUZ.

glad you're okay. so sorry you had to go through that.

a few years ago, hubby was driving to work in my honda CRV. He was stopped in front of his office with the blinker on, waiting to turn into the parking lot and got rear ended by a little Chevy Cavalier. Totaled the Chevy. CRV, it severely damaged the exhaust system when the muffler impaled itself into the Chevy. Expensive repair, but so minimal compared to what it could have been if a manlier car had hit.

wow. Holy crap. Obviously there was no running after the hitting in that dealie.

Posted by Bou at May 3, 2007 06:36 AM

I'm just glad you're okay. It'll be about a week before you start feeling normal again (says the veteran victim of many vehicle accidents). I hope the insurance hassles are minimal. *sigh*

I should say so!!!

Glad you're ok. The person in that Mini Cooper was LUCKY.

Posted by Marie at May 3, 2007 07:42 AM

PS -- I'd been wondering if I'd use a camera phone (I'm planning to trade my cell in soon), and I think it's a good idea to have one after seeing this! Cuz you never know...

Posted by Marie at May 3, 2007 07:46 AM

CRIKEY I'm glad you're OK! I still look in my rear-view when stopped to make sure the presumed idiot coming up behind me is ACTUALLY GOING TO STOP. You know how, in car commercials they always show drivers of cars smiling and driving along all peaceful and getting off on the road and the view and and the vehicle's handling and features, etc. -- enjoying their "driving experience"? I mean, WTF is *that* all about? When I drive it feels like I'm in a foxhole at Bastogne.

Glad you're OK!

That happened to us four years ago...a mere four days after buying our car, I might add. Some distracted Young Thing plowed into us as we were stopped at a red light. $5,000 later, our car was good as new (sorta) - hers was totaled.

I wonder if the guy that hit you was talking on his cellphone...dumbass.

Posted by Elisson at May 3, 2007 08:34 AM

Geez, CTG a) glad you're OK b) what an idiot the other guy is.

Posted by Jane at May 3, 2007 10:23 AM

Oh my goodness! I'm glad you are okay. It looks awful!

Posted by Phoenix at May 3, 2007 10:41 AM

you weren't ticketed for hitting the mini cooper, were you?

Posted by wRitErsbLock at May 3, 2007 10:42 AM

DANG!! I'm glad you're all right, hon.

Posted by Margi at May 3, 2007 11:11 AM

I'm glad you are okay. Take it easy the next couple of days. I hope the insurance stuff isn't a mess.

Oh, and I LOVE my Escape!
