Thanks for not spoiling it for me; we're taking the younglings to see it tomorrow.

Karen Allen...

The line forms right behind me...thank you very much!

Freckles, check...husky voice, check...twinkle in eye, check...

The most charitable thing I say is she's rather plain with an on-screen personality that just grates my nerves. Her presence in the movie may be the one thing that keeps me from paying to see it.

I'd much rather be like Karen, who is so *shiny*!

The rest of you can hang out in bars or fly solo to the theatre hoping for the blond to notice you, but in the timeless words of En Vogue, "you're never gonna get it."

Karen will chase off to the ends of the earth with you.

The "LaPoof" thing made me laugh.

I'll have to join the line forming behind Karen Allen, who does indeed have "it" ("it" being, of course, an indefinable and wholly subjective quality). Not that Fraulein Nazi-Schtupper is actually deformed or anything.

On a completely different topic, an article from the UK that might be of interest to you cameloids.

Ever since she was Katy in Animal House, Karen Allen has always projected that "OK, drop 'em right here and let's get it on" vibe. Fraulein Nazi-Schtupper looks like far too much work for too little reward that ends up given on her terms. Marion/Karen Allen comes across as actually enjoying it and letting things go to areas not sanctioned by most major religions.

Karen Allen projects a smart girl who is a lot of fun. The Blonde screams "high maintenance for little reward"

Money quotes from the original movie:

Marion: "I was young-I was in love!"
Indy: "You knew what you were doing."

Marion: "You really know how to show a girl a good time."

KMR, I think you summed it up better then I ever could.

It begs the question - with whom would you rather grow old?

I don't think there's any contest.

I'm in the karen allen/marion ravenwood camp. She's got all-american girl-next-door appeal.
