Comments: The Berg Phenomenon

I am assuming you saw Elizabeth Nicksons' column in the Post on Saturday. I wish more of this info on the good work being done by the Coalition soldiers would be highlighted front and center in the mainstream media.

I hosted the video itself on my site for about 48 hours. I had to pull it due to bandwidth. In the end, attacks (I suspect) by a number of IP addresses knocked me offline.

Murdoc is down but not out...

Susan, I haven't read the Nickson column although I used to read her regularly when the NP was available online. Thanks for the tip - I'll check and see if I can find it.

You're right, there is so much good work being done in Iraq, and I confess that I don't mention it as often as I should.

Murdoc! I don't know what your stats show, but a lot of people thought they were getting DOS attacks but closer inspection showed a massive following of links.

Sadly, Nick Berg is just the latest (and most publicized) Jewish victim of Jihadist hatred. The Jihadist culture, which is much larger than President Bush publicly acknowledges, has been murdering its "enemies" for the past 1,425 years. The problem with their logic--or lack thereof--is that they had no enemies until they starting forcing Jews, Christians, polytheists, and disbelievers to accept their theo-political lordship, or pay the jizya tax and be subordinate, or be killed. Little wonder the Jihadis think everyone hates them...they have made it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Many commentators have referred to the need for the Muslim consciousness to undergo an "Englightenment" period much as Christianity did, just as much to learn tolerance for the various branches of Islam as well as for Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and other faiths.

That only requires a few hundred years, if Western history serves as a guide ...

Isn't it the truth, Debbye...and the salvation of the Islamic civilization may very well be the Sufis with their longstanding devotion towards piety, meditation, and brotherly love.
