Comments: Mfume to apologize to Paige for NAACP snub

Once again the NAACP, the champion of 'free speech' proves that they support 'free speech' as long as you are freely speaking what they agree with. Our community will not change until the masses place all that we currently believe on the table and have an honest and open discussion. We can mantain those thoughts and associations that can be justified and we must purge those which are rooted in emotionalism. Until the groups that are in power such as the NAACP are forced to change they will continue to have their way with the political discourse in Black America.

If the NAACP has power, how come most Blacks support school vouchers?

If the NAACP has power, how come most Blacks don't support homosexual marriage?

Both are things that the NAACP supports.

Anyone who blames the NAACP, doesn't want discourse. You can get the discourse without the NAACP.

Given that most blacks support school vouchers, why do they vote for the party that opposes them?

Of course you "can get" discourse without the NAACP. I don't think "can get" is Michael's point.

Hypocritical organization that claims to be for diversity except when it comes to diversity of ideas. I rank this snubbing up there along with the one Clearence Thomas gets from Ebony magazine influential list. Next time they should invite Old Dirty Bastard "Wu Tang for the children"

Mfume apologized. What more do you want?

Actually, as of this morning, Mfume HADN'T apologized.

What more do I want? I want the NAACP to either admit they are a partisan organization, and come up off their tax exemption. Otherwise, they need to lay off of the venomous rhetoric and be an "all inclusive" organization; stop treating black conservatives like second class citizens.
