Comments: Track Santa

Call me a fundamentalist or a John Birch Society member, but I'm not going to begin to let my children believe in Santa. It removes what Christmas is really about, and helps implant redistributionism.

OK. I'll defend to the death your right to feel that way.

A Pagan, I'm still going to spread the joy by:

a.) Saying Merry Christmas to my Christian Friends.
b.) Sitting down with my FIL in the hospital to hold his hand on Christmas Day.
c.) Celebrating all 12 days of Yuletide.
d.) Watching my two-year-old daughter's face light up with wonder while she's still young enough to enjoy the idea of magic.

See, "Santa Claus" is an ideal of the generosity of the spirit.

I'll let harsh reality and the world epidemic of small-spiritedness impinge on her awareness when she's much, much older.

But you have a Merry Christmas, a Joyous Yule, and a Happy New Year.
