Comments: Courthouse shooting in Atlanta

Thanks for the view from inside the war zone. Does Atlanta always spend this much energy on catching murders?

I think that most "fresh cases" are dealt with with this kind of effort in almost all jurisdictions and it's only in high profile cases sucj as this one that we get to notice it.

The Police are proud and like to get their talent tested. It's only after a few days and looks like a trail has gone cold that they'll start to feel "routine" setting in.

We had a case recently where husband-wife jewelers were shot dead in their shop my a maggot looking for gems to sell for heroin spending cash. From Connecticut to New Hampshire and New York and beyond he was being hunted. He was nabbed two or three days later in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The wife's name was Kim, btw. In memory of her I wear the gaelic Jones crest lapel pin that I bought from her last summer at our local Irish Festival. It's so satisfying to see a killer captured as the result of these manhunts, eh?!

I can almost guarantee you he didn't get on MARTA. More than likely someone would have recognized him from there, particularly if he got on at night.

I'd bet he's either hiding in West End or out the city by now.

My heart goes out to all the families that's
involed in the shooting espically the childern that has to live without their parents. May God be with them always.
