Comments: Moments from the Weekend

It was absolutely, my pleasure! Meeting you was like waiting for the sunset to exhale. Until we meet again … fair winds and following seas.

Mama, Delfts, you two are some of the sweetest folks I have had the pleasure to meet! I had a GREAT time hanging with y'all and I hope this becomes a regular occurrence--and if you move down, expect a "Welcome Home" party of unbelievable proportions! :-D

P.S.: Zane *LOVES* you two! *grin*

Did someone say party? :-)

D's right, though. Y'all move down here, and we'll have a good party. I can promise that.

That was one fun weekend, wasn't it? :-D

OK, go here: http://www.traveltex.com/ and click on anything under the FREE STUFF YA'LL heading. Send them your address and you will be getting some very nice stuff from the Great Republic of Texas!

Dear Mama, I had a really long and detailed reply to the Texas post but somehow it did not make it to your comment section. I live in the Dallas area and have the opposit view of Texas. In fact I have never met more rude and impolite people any where in my travels. (not to mention the Dallas area is now the leading metropolice in crime). I won't go into detail as I did on the last one but I am sure it is not the native Texans who are the problem most I have met are nice. But the majority of people I seen here are for sure have the worst manners it has been my displeasure to come across.

Hi Mama!

Sorry it has taken me so long to drop by and say hello.

One disagreement; you and the vast majority of conservatives are clearly not nazis, I will not characterize you folks as such. That is an unujustified libel.

With that said, I am pro-choice, pro-euthanasia and I regard life as sacred. Talk about a bundle of contradictions! Here is how it works:

The government should have NO say positive or negative on abortion. It should be between a woman and her doctor (the father should be involved but I still feel the final decision is the woman's). The only role the government should have is to use education to keep abortions safe, legal and RARE. I'm adopted so I have strong opinions on the RARE part. Same deal on euthanasia. NO government involvement. Keep it between families and physicians.

See? I have no policy of "cleansing" anyone except when the dogs get too smelly and get herded into the bathtub.

Mama, here is my promise: I will do my best not to oversimplify the conservative positions on issues when I blog. Because, yes, I can recast these positions as being Nazi positions by oversimplifying and distorting.

Would you be willing to do the same for us liberals? I know it's harder, and I'm already hesitant about this promise, but it's important. When we respect each other, we can work together rather than tearing each other apart.

I'm not the best at it, but I try to remember that we are all human, beautiful, imperfect and sometimes wrong. And that is alright.

Okay, enough rambling. Blessings to you and to Delfts!
