Comments: American women win hockey gold

I talked a lot about this on my own blog and with other Candadians. They don't seem to care. They used the "nobody watched and media didn't cover it" excuse.

I wonder how many people who were pro-shootout for the NHL are willing to change their minds now?

USA!! USA!! USA!!

There are actually people - real people - who are pro-shootout? Surely not for NHL championships ... that would just be the wrongest kind of wrong there can ever be anywhere in the sports world (like right up there next to the DH rule in American League baseball.)

Trying to put that rule in would result in a mass uprising of unfathomable fury up here.

"(like right up there next to the DH rule in American League baseball."

That's as good an anology as any with respect to shootouts. In regular league play - maybe given the demands of a tight schedule although I'ld rather see 4 on 4 or even 3 on 3. Shootouts in a championship game are strictly bush-league.

The future of women's hockey would also be a good debate. It seems the sport is unfortunately stuck in a two team rut - Canada and the U.S. with everyone else trailing far behind. This can't be good for the game.

I thought the American girls were a lot better looking than the Canadian dykes.

"I thought the American girls were a lot better looking than the Canadian dykes."

...and Americans wonder why the world hates them...

Brian:

How can you tell - don't they all wear full cage masks? I Googled for nude photos - this is the best I could find - your soccer team is hotter.

Three cheers to Flanstein for being the first Canadian to surface with the "...and Americans wonder why the world hates them" taunt.
Way to go, Einstein. School yard children everywhere are cheering you loudly.
